This has been one exciting weekend!
On friday evening David noticed that our short film "Lights out" had been shared on Reddit and that the film had over 17 000 views on vimeo where earlier that day we had 1000. During the evening the number of views climbed quickly and when we woke up on saturday it had reached 70 000 and now, at this exact moment, it's been viewed more than 269 000 views in only two days.
We've seen the link all over the internet and it's been so exciting to try to see where everybody came from.
On twitter Derren Brown retweeted the link to all his followers and that made a huge difference. When Sourcefed shared it the views skyrocketed.
We've been reading all the comments and sharing the good and the bad ones with eachother.
Lots of people love it, some not so much.
I like how a guy in the comment section on Sourcefed felt the need to write "That lady is uglier than the monster" as if that was the only thing he took with him from seeing the film. Thank you, now I know what look to go for in the future.

One person wrote that it was a lot of focus on bare legs and "why doesnt she wear pajama pants" and I actually have a really good explanation for that one! That is a night gown and there are not supposed to be any pants to go with the top. And I chose that particular one because I didn't want to wear a nightgown with too much cleavage exposion going on. That is the most prudish nightwear I own! I love how people thought we chose that particular garment to show off my legs in a sexy way when it was sort of the opposite. Well, it must mean I've got nice legs, right?

A lot of people seem to dislike the ending and we definitely don't have any trouble with people who think that. I for one really love the playfulness in the face of the monster and the fact that it actually is me in both roles can be interpreted that the thing we fear the most is ourselves.

The number of views on youtube has climbed a lot during these past two days too and has now passed 20 000 views.
I can honestly say it's been incredibly exciting and I can't wait to see how all of this unravels!
As David said in a tweet, if it continues in this speed every person on the planet will have seen the film in about 16 days. Let's make that happen!

Oh, and if you are one of the people coming here after seeing Lights out: Hello! Welcome! Thanks for seeing the film! Yaay!

David made the film as a submission for the Bloody Cuts Who's there Film Challenge. A couple of weeks ago we found out that David won Best Director and earlier this week the judges at Bloody Cuts blogged about the reasons why David won. That alone was so great, and now all this as well!
It's been a good week for Lights out; David and me.
Hej!
The photos in the third roll of film that we had developed were taken during one of our trips to Österlen. We spent a week writing, making and eating lots of soup and taking walks.
As with the photos from our wedding and honeymoon these are not perfect by any technical standards but that's kind of what I like about them. It feels so strange that technology has moved so fast because I was one of those people who used a Point and Shoot kind of film camera long after people started taking digital photos, and it still feels like it was ages ago.
And also, how come it was so easy to get used to the possibilties of taking a gazillion photos without having to think of film rolls and development costs? It already feels so strange and exciting to have to wait to see the photos. I sometimes catch myself looking at the back of the film camera for a display screen showing me what I just shot.
How quickly we get used to the speed of technology!
I love that I've started to fiddle with both the digital and the analog because to me that just feels so right.
Sometimes I want the power in being able to choose from a hundred photos and in that moment having the chance to correct and learn on the spot, but sometimes it's just so nice to take a picture of a time and place I think is worth capturing and storing it in my memory for a while before seeing the result and remembering it all over again.
It doesn't have to be either or, it can be two completely different things satisfying two sides of photography.
Ahhh, favorite season of them all!
Cute husband being all cute.
Hello lonely tree!
The cliffs of Vik were photogenic as always.
And I can't resist the hazy dusk and wind in reed.

Yesterday I brought the film camera when David and I were going in to town. Ten minutes from home I realised I hadn't loaded the camera with a new roll of film so for all of the two hours we spent walking around Gothenburg my camera was just some kind of stupid hipster necklace. Ha! That made me feel so very professional.
The camera is loaded now though, ready for the next analog adventure.

Two of Gothenburg in between seasons.
One afternoon with bright light and fresh air, and one early evening running on a rainy wet cemetery.
Two photos of work for lottalosten.com.
One editing the photos you saw in this post, and one sitting at a café working with my Strangers.
Two of me in my grandmothers old suede coat.
One in the elevator on my way home and one on the season premiere of wearing sunglasses!
This coat has been hanging in my wardrobe over ten years and I haven't used it that much for some reason. But this spring I fell in love with it all over again. It has these short trumpet sleeves that makes it a bit cold on my wrists but the coat itself is quite warm so it's an inbetween seasons coat and that has been perfect for the Gothenburg weather lately.
But I think I can safely say that spring is here now! Yaay!

Hello!
A couple of weeks before our wedding David and I found a box of film cameras and lenses at a fleamarket and since we wanted our friends to take the wedding photos and use different types of cameras we bought the entire box. There was one camera that looked especially good so when the day arrived we lended that one to our friend Aili so she could photograph her view of the wedding.
There was no time to test the camera before though, so we just had to cross our fingers and hope for the best.
We stayed in the house at Österlen a week after the wedding for a little honeymoon and we used the camera to document what we did.
Our plan was to develop the films as soon as we came back home but, not very surprisingly, we forgot about them until a week or so ago. I actually used the camera during autumn too and was very excited to send away three film rolls for development. Two colour films and one black and white.
The photos arrived on monday and I am so happy with the result!
Aili's photos from the wedding are absolutely beautiful and the ones we took during our mini honeymoon are so lovely and makes me remember all of it.
It is quite interesting how these, in some parts, "flawed" photos can fill me with so much joy and I think they are absolutely flawless in my eyes! Light leaks, over exposure, blur and all- they are just what I wanted and perfect memories from a perfect week.

At one point during the celebrations my husband was replaced by a cat.

We went for walks in the nearby town Simrishamn.
Flowers saved from the wedding.
We went for walks over the hills. David in bright light talking on the phone.
One of the best things we did during our honeymoon was that we had a late night picnic at an old fort by the ocean. We brought sandwiches with fried egg, cookies left over from the wedding, coffee and beer and then we sat on that little fort for hours until it became cold.

One evening at the beach of Knäbäckshusen.
We went back to the place of the ceremony.
I am planning a post for the autumn photos too in a few days. I am so happy with how all these photographs turned out and can't wait to take more photos with this film camera! I also want to try the other camera in the box we found at the fleamarket. That one is way simpler than the one we used for these photos but I am really curious to see what kind of photos it will take. I'm sensing a new hobby forming...
