So these days has been quite slow. I've been working at my "real" job and not really having any strength to get going on my own business. I guess it's the summer vacation feel that won't really leave my body.
As I'm slowly getting in to everyday routines again I look at all the photos I took with my phone during my week at Österlen and feel all warm inside.
Have a look with me:
A boat in a pond. Does it get more idyllic?
Hello. Yours truly in a hen house.
I had dinner with Astor the cat. He's got fierce eyes, hasn't he.
They have opened a Crêperie in the little village of Rörum where we live and we of course had to go check it out.
You can see for yourself how tasty it was. Omnomnom.
I had to bring David there when he came to Rörum. Like Astor the cat this dinner date has some fierce eyes...
Hello again, from behind a coffee cup.
Coffee with lots of milk. The only real way to drink coffee, you know.
One day I found wild strawberries, or Smultron as we call them in Sweden. They went straight in to my mouth half a second after this photo was snapped.
Rye in hand (I did not eat this, I promise).
It was very foggy for a few days. This is a parkway in Simrishamn called Suckarnas gång (Aisle of sighs) leading the way to the cemetary. This is also the place for the enormous weekly fleamarket.
I love fog but it gives me head aches. I hate how something as beautiful as this is bad for me. Humidity and I are not best friends, though I sure wish we could be.
Have I told you Österlen is amazing? Österlen is amazing.
Proof of the amazingness of Österlen: We found kittens!
Look at that face!
"Please, please, please can I keep it? I don't have to be allergic..."
You must already know that I'm drawn to capturing stilleben with my camera. This is one of my favourites from the trip.
On our last day it rained almost not stop.
And then in the evening it was that fog again, rolling over the hills.
Did I tell you that I miss this place?
(If you wan't to you can follow me on instagram to see more photos. My name there is lottalosten, as always.)
On our last evening in Rörum, Österlen, David and I went for an evening walk over the hills. It was foggy and very humid. The landscape was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
I have been longing to show these photos to you because I really like how they came out. Misty and mystical.
So here we go, but first you have to say hello to my cow friends.
Hello.
Okay, here they are:
It was almost like the fog greeted us. Welcome, it said. If you dare.
I could stare at these for hours, dreaming myself back to that exact spot. Can't wait to return in a few weeks!
It's a fairytale forest!
Found an open meadow. Danced around for a while.
Found a stick. Became a druid.
After some time we headed back over the misty hills again.
And was met by some nice sheep.
It really is hard to understand sometimes that Österlen is a part of Sweden. It looks so different from other places in this country. I love that I'm able to go there any season of the year and absorb the beauty of the environment.
It's my haven.
A week ago I was at my parent's summer house in the south of Sweden, a part called Österlen. One of the many (MANY) great things about Österlen is that they have loads of fleamarkets there during the summer season. Some are more organized than others, some are indoors and some are outside. I always bring a lot of new (to me) stuff home and this time was no exception. I'll show you!
Loppis is the swedish word for fleamarket. Loppa means flea so it actually comes from the same idea. Everywhere on Österlen people have their own fleamarkets so when you're out driving you have to pay attention so you don't miss a sign like this one.
In the little village of Gladsax they have an amazing place called Karosserigården. It's very big and SUPER ORGANIZED. The stuff is even arranged by colours! This place is a bit expensive but I love it so much I always have to buy something from there. This time I found a large tea cup, a red hat/fascinator thing and an old postcard.
They have drawers for everything (even odd jigsaw pieces)! And the things that don't really go with anything is in the Pillimojs drawer. Pillimojs is not a real word but it means something like miscellaneous but in a more a childish way.
The drawer for old glass decanter stoppers is one of my personal favourites.
Gammalt och Nytt. Old and New.
Every saturday there's a big outdoors fleamarket in a parkway in the town Simrishamn. When we were there they even had it on a thursday! I can't believe my thrifting luck sometimes!
And to add to my luck I saw that the man with all the old jewelry was there! He inherited an old lady's jewelry shop once and has been selling off all the jewelry that comes from the 1950's and forward. I have been buying from him for a few years but last year he said he had no jewelry boxes left in his storage room. But this day he burst out Oh! You are one lucky girl today! I found some more boxes! I stood behind his table and dug through his boxes and oooh'd and aaaah'd all the time when I found a new gorgeous necklace that I wanted to buy. Because I know him by now he always gives me a nice price and I skip away happily with a plastic bag filled with necklaces for me to take apart and make new ones of.
Look at all the pretty beads I bought!
And then I found this bag. I love it so much!
On saturday it was raining. A lot. It didn't keep people away from thrifting though. It was raincoats everywhere!
It looks so sad, all the wet stuff on the ground.
Some people came prepared, with plastic sheets to cover their things but mostly it was all wet so I really didn't feel like buying anything. I was just taking photos of the wetness.
I'm guessing the electroinic hair equipment didn't do as well as the wine glasses...
Today is a sunny day in Gothenburg and we're walking to the movie theatre to finally see Moonrise Kingdom. I have been looking forward to seeing that for such a long time.
Tjingeling!

David and I went on an evening walk the other day. The sun was setting after a lovely summer's day.
We walked past the big farm house down the road and this little guy glared at us from under the door.
It is so beautiful here. Österlen (the south of Sweden) is my absolute favourite place.
We walked up to the lonely tree.
Sometimes you have to stop, breath and look around.
Or you can do as I did. Well, I don't really know what I did.
Dance a bit in the middle of a field.
The sheep live a happy life here.
Today I've been to one fleamarket and later in the evening it's time for a second one. I'm sure I will show you all of my finds later (and maybe brag a little too).
It all looks so beautiful! Very idyllic. I hope to visit Sweden one day.
Inte är Davids ögon det minsta "fierce" på fotot. Långt därifrån. Han är ju mild som en Gouda-ost.
Inge: You should! I would love to show you around! :-)
Far: Hahah! Det ska jag börja säga till David. "Du är mild som en gouda-ost".
Kanske är det så att bara jag tycker hans blick är fierce eftersom den tittar rakt på mig. Liksom kärlek och sånt trams.
