Hej hej!
Last week of november. How did it even happen?
The stores are filled with christmas things and I am starting to realising that it's soon time for me to attend the big christmas fair in the mall Nordstan here in Gothenburg. I am going to be there a few days during the week right before christmas so that's great! Really can't wait, I feel even more excited about it this year!

My etsy shops are stocked up as well and I thought I'd offer a christmas sale for you all. If you use coupon code XMAS13 during checkout you'll get a whopping 20% off your purchase!
A great opportunity to buy some really unique and artful christmas gifts.

Here are some jewelry that I've listed (or re-listed again after the big re-vamp) recently in the shop.
The same coupon code is also valid in my photo shop Close to the eye.
Just write XMAS13 in the box for Coupon code during checkout.
You can use this code until december 15 in both shops but if you want to be sure to receive your purchases before the holidays you need to place your order before december 9!

Lets take a look at three photos you can find in my photo shop.
Today I picked up a large package with my photos printed on canvases. They look so very beautiful! It will take a while for me to list them in the shop though because I need to mount them first but I will most surely have them for sale during my days at the christmas fair in Nordstan.

If you are interested in buying mounted canvas photos from me and don't live in Gothenburg or even in Sweden you are welcome to send me an email to lottalosten@gmail.com. I'll do my best for you to receive the canvases before the holidays!
Hej hej!
Today I have a post for you that has been lying unedited on my computer since july. I just haven't had the time (or memory) to edit and post it but now, finally, here it is!
David and I found half a bridge one day when we were driving around during one of our visits to Österlen, and we thought "Huh! What was that?!? Was that really half a bridge in the middle of nowhere?!"
So obviously we had to go back and have a look one evening armed with our cameras.
This was before we bought our Nikon D7000 so these photos are taken with my old Nikon D80.
The bridge is situated in a tiny town called Gärsnäs. We parked the car and crossed the train tracks.
The bridge!
We found our way underneath the bridge. The sun was setting and it was almost magical.
I both like and find it sad how the tree had made it all around the metal thingy but still someone came and chopped it down. Seems unnecessary, doesn't it? And kind of evil, sort of Ha! We waited until you thought you made it and then BAM! We killed you!
All of a sudden we heard a sound! We turned around and realised we had company by a cat who seemed to hang out there every day by the way it moved around so familiarly.
I understand how the cat must love this place because it was so beautiful! Like a jungle ruin from another time.
David was eager to get to the part of the bridge where it ends abruptly into nothing.
Sadly we couldn't find any way to get up there. David tried though...
Without success.
The cat had spotted something in the high grass.
Still looking for ways to get up there.
Looking back the way we came.
I took the opportunity to dance among the pillars.
Trying to do something acrobatic and realising I don't know how to so ending up doing this instead.
Aaahh, magical place!
David in the middle.
There in the distance you can see the end of the bridge. It just stops there.
David checking to see if it's open. Of course it wasn't.
Checking another door. It was open. But it was nothing intersting to see in there. I love the light in this photo though. So pretty.
Then I set up the camera to play with the timer. David was patiently waiting for me to prepare all the settings.
Obligatory kissing picture.
And then some goofing around.

Look at David's hand! Haha, so cute!
Then it was time to leave and we went back to the car and spotted the cat one more time. I think he followed us around to see what we were up to.

I really love to go on this kind of photo adventure with David. Taking lots of photos and discover interesting/beautiful/weird/fun places together.
Today it's three months since we got married. These photos were taken almost two months before that and I can't believe how quickly time has been passing. It feels like yesterday!
Oh my, I am so happy and excited to show you this!
Look at my new amazing etsy banner! Look at my new fantastic photos!

I have been wanting to do this for such a long time. Forever, it feels like. It's been a dilemma for me over the years; how to photograph my jewelry. I love to do it and I have been striving to find a personal style for this but everytime I thought I had found THE way, after a few weeks I've always been forced to admit that I STILL hadn't yet found it. Because I have very colourful jewelry and all colours do not look good in front of white. Or black. And I wanted something that looked clean but still special. Oh, I've been searching and searching and one day I just got it.
I needed a large stone...
So I went and bought one large piece of slate and went home and tried it out and YES YES YES it looked really promising!
I wanted natural light instead of using my lightbox and I made sure to test the light during different times of the day. BEAUTIFUL ALL THE TIME!
And the colours, they look so good and you can see the silver against it and oh, YEAH it's still fun to take the photos.
*okay, breathe now, Lotta*

Okay, I think we need a break from my rambling to have a look at these photos. So let's do that.
Okay, I'm back again.
The tricky thing when I started this whole Slate Photography thing was that I knew I needed to change EVERY SINGLE PHOTO in my shop for me to be completely satisfied so I started the Clearance Sale and then I went ahead to take photos of all my jewelry.
I am not finished by far, but I wanted to do this big re-vamp of the shop today so that's what I'm doing.
I've got myself a new fancy banner, I've changed a lot in the listing texts and the shop is stocked with about 35 pieces of jewelry and more is coming. A lot more.
Pop over to the shop and have a look.

And tell me, what do you think?

And Pssssst!
To celebrate this exciting makeover with you I'm offering a 20% discount on everything in my shop all through october! Just use Coupon code NEWANDFANCY during checkout.
Hello hello!

Yes Yes Yes, I know I promised you this AGES AGO but now it's FINALLY time to show you the last of the pictures from my photoshoot with Hanna in the old Papyrus factory (You can see part one here).
Since it's actually Hannas birthday today I thought it would be the perfect time to unleash the haunting beauty that is my friend Hanna. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNA!
We had a great time taking these photos and I am so happy with the result. Dark, sometimes colourful, dramatic and beautiful if I may say so myself.

Sadly my camera was "singing on it's last verse" (crudely translated from the swedish phrase "Att sjunga på sista versen" which is a too good saying not to use in english as well, so go ahead english speaking people- take it, and use it!) and now when I look through the photos I can really see how hard it was to handle the camera that day. It was the camera focus that eventually broke down completely a few weeks later and lot's of photos from this day that could have turned out AMAZING were too unsharp to use. I am glad I got these really nice photos though and I'm sure I will use Hanna as a model a lot more in the future!

I am planning a huge re-vamp of my shop in the days to come and you will see a few of these photos (and some more that didn't get blogged) in there. This is the biggest change I've ever done in my shop and I really look forward to showing you. Only a few days left now...
Pop over to my shop already though because the Clearance SALE will be over in two days time so hurry, HURRY!

I hope your weekend was all you wanted it to be, wether it being cozy sofa chill or wild and crazy nights out. I have been working most of the weekend, both at home and at my other work, but I had some time for wine and popcorn, an evening run and some reading. This evening will be spent infront of the computer because if I'm going to be showing you the fancy makeover of my shop in a few days I've got my work cut out for me.

So I hope you enjoyed seeing more from the spooky Papyrus factory. Do you have a favourite of the photos? I think mine might be the third from the bottom, I just love the smile in Hannas face and all the colours surrounding her.
Have a nice sunday evening and start of the new week, everybody.

Bye for now!
/Lotta
