Last thursday through saturday was Way out west festival and David and I was there. This is the best thing of the year for me because they almost always seem to get all my favourite bands and artists. This year was a really good one. I didn't get photos of all the acts we saw but here is a little glimpse into the festival through my camera.
Florence and the machine! So so so amazing!
David found a chair!
Feist!! She is so incredibly cool. I'm a little bit in love with her.
And Jeff Tweedy from Wilco came and sang a duet with her!
First act on saturday was Jonathan Richman. I love him so much. I've seen him once before and one of the amazing things about him is how dorky and happy he is all the time. The sweetest man ever!
Excuse the fuzzy picture but I just had to show you his sweet dance moves!
And this is how happy and thankful he was when it was time for him to leave the stage. For you who doesn't know who he is: have you seen the movie There's something about Mary? He's the singer following the protaganist around all the time. And here you can listen to one of my favourite songs with Jonathan. Listen to all of it and smile.
Miike Snow behind there.
Then it was time to put on the 3D glasses! An entire audience of pretty nerds. Lovely!
Kraftwerk! We almost panicked for a while, it was so much people! Didn't see a thing and had to squeeze ourselves to the far back where we actually could see a whole lot better.
Then it was time to go home and I'm sure I slept with a big happy smile on my lips. One year until next time. Can't wait!
On saturday I attended the design fair à la London and it was such a great day! It went really well and I met lots of new and old customers. When I got home I was so tired I fell asleep in the sofa with my earned money in one hand and my phone in the other. David filmed some during the day and here's a little video that shows you exactly how lovely it was.
This is me from sunday. Ready for some fleamarket fun!
It was a giant fleamarket in the part of town called Majorna. The people living there take over the entire neighbourhood of Majorna the last sunday of may every year and turn it into the most amazing fleamarket. You could walk around there an entire day if you want to.
Stuff for sale everywhere!
My emerald green legs.
My favourite street in Majorna. This neighborhoud is such an amazing part of Gothenburg. I dream about living there someday.
This made me smile. So clever to bring a bookshelf for all the things!
A vase with barbies, anyone?
I wanted all of these art deco earrings! ALL OF THEM! Sadly they were not so great at making nickel safe jewelry at that time so I had to make do with taking photos of them instead.
What's with the smoke over there?
Grill time!
And here's one of the things following me home that day. A lovely rust orange cardigan for only 20 kronor ($2,70)!
My phone is filled to the brim with photos again! Let's take a peek.
When David and I were on our way to a fleamarket we had to stop and ask the locals for direction. They were not very helpful.
Our neighbourhood chestnut tree started to blossom. A lot.
I went out running. Yes, it's true. On my way home I stopped and looked up in to the green for a while.
I have been waiting for the ferry a lot. And taking photos of strangers...
One day last week it was super hot but on the ferry it was lovely and windy! So practical when I've been riding my bike really fast and getting all sweaty. Thank you wind for making me look fresh again in no time!
I've been enjoying the sunsets. Like this one.
And this one was my favourite.
Silhouettes of cranes at Hisingen island.
One evening I side-braided my hair. Thought to myself that I was one of those long haired ladies in movies who braid their hair at night in front of a large mirror in a candlelit room. Then I laughed really hard.
"OBEY THE MARKET MASTER!" I just love this photo from the fair the other day. I like to imagine that he controls everybody with tiny, invisible strings, like a puppet master.
Yesterday on a fleamarket in Majorna I found these two cuties. I got them really cheap and I actually think they are quite collectable. I love Moomins. My friend Jenny loves them even more so I bought the bigger one for her.
The rest of the day was spent with my lovely theatre group Teater Esther. This is Lovisa and Frida eating sushi in Redbergsparken.
And this is Hanna and Olle. They are cool. As you can see. Lisa was there too but didn't stick on any photo apparently. She's cool too, I promise. You will meet them all in a post later this week...
We were rehersing on the play we are doing. Imagine this is a beach.
This is Siv giving Ingrid a neck massage. Or Lovisa and Hanna. Hard to tell when they are in costume...
Me? I looked like this. Of course.
And I'll end this post with a glimpse of my shockingly white bare legs waiting for the ferry earlier today.
