OMG! I'm the worst blogger ever right now!
It's like time is just running through my fingers and all of a sudden three weeks have gone by.
Sorry for that! But like I told you in my last post I can't talk a lot about what happens on set and since that is about all that is going on in my head right now it's very hard to find things to blog about. Or even get the thought "I need to blog now".
But I realised today I actually DO have things I want to show you about what's going on in my life. So let's do that!

We spent the weekend before shooting started at the production office. We haven't been there since, and I had a feeling it would be long until next time, so I went bananas with the self timer up on the roof. I really like those moments alone exploring, jumping around and running back and forth to set the timer/look at the photo I just took to see if it turned out any good.

I have been at the set every other day. I come and go as I want to and it feels good to have a couple of days for myself every now and then. When I'm not at the filmset I'm walking around in Burbank where we live and sit at cafés writing. Here's a pine tree lined street close to us that is mysterious and dark usually, but when someone has watered the street at the same time as their gardens, it turns into an even more beautiful scene.
I would get super bored if I would only do one or the other (alone days or hanging out at the set) but now as I can choose to mix it up I really enjoy the days I have on my own.
The movieset is super exciting with lots of people running around doing their thing and I find it so amazing to see David working so surely with experienced actors and film crew. It's such a huge leap to go from making movies just two people in an apartment to making a studiofilm in Hollywood. I'm beyond impressed with how awesome David is in this situation.

When we had only been in LA for a couple of weeks our wonderful neighbours knocked on our door and gave me this shirt. They had found it in a store and had to buy it for me because it happened to have Lights Out written on it.
It has nothing to do with our film but I obviously feel like it's meant to be so I wore it on set and felt like a fangirl all day.

On the first weekend after filming started we switched the production office for the filmset. I found spooky places in the large building and obviously got good use of my gorillapod and self timer. I'm really fond of the light and shadows in this photo. I love using what is around me and this is a perfect example of how to get the surroundings to work in your favour.

And I definitely can't resist a good hallway.

On the last day at the first filming location they filmed some outdoor scenes and it was a lot of work before they could take a break for food. Since I do what I feel like when I'm there I fetched a cup of coffee and went up on the roof for some alone time. It was during golden hour so the light was just beautiful. I took some photos and then I realised I could see what the film crew was up to from my spot above.

Then David walked past and I sent him a text that he should look up. When he saw me he came up on the roof too. He had a few minutes to breath (and make out) away from the hustle and bustle of the movieset. It was a perfect moment. One of those you'll remember forever.

The view was kinda amazing.

I have been taking a bunch of outfit photos as well. This one was to show off my new second hand blouse that stops at the waist, covers my shoulders and is made in a cool and breezy fabric.
Talking about clothes, I had my costume fitting for Lights Out last week. Such a cool feeling! And it made everything feel a little bit more real too. I got my visa so that I can work in the film and I have a part and it's just so amazing everything!
I can't wait until it's my turn to get infront of the camera. And I am actually the only one in this production that have been directed by David before this! HA! And I'm not intimidated by Mr Hollywood Director so I'm going to pretend it's just like when we make our horror shorts at home. Nothing more, nothing less (Let's see how that goes).

This monday, out walking, finding surroundings that match my outfit.

And yesterday at the filmset. They were shooting one of the most difficult scenes in the movie light wise. There was so much people running around and there was a lot of last minute details that had to be decided.

So I hope you liked to see and read a little about what's been going on these past three weeks. My plan is that you won't have to wait as long until my next blog post, but who knows really!
It's probably the strangest time in my life right now and I have sort of decided to not force anything. This entire experience is so far from every day life that we just have to take every day as it comes. It's both scary and exciting, obviously. But I feel strangely calm about everything. But that's the true nature of an adventure, isn't it?

Hej!
On friday afternoon we left LA right in time for rush hour.
It took us about two hours just to get out of Los Angeles, and we had 6 more hours of driving ahead of us...
We were on our way to the Santa Cruz mountains to visit our friends Jillian and Tijn, and we very much looked forward to that! Traffic be damned!

We arrived at their beautiful mountain house at two in the morning. So extremely tired. We said hi to Jillian and Tijn and then we fell asleep. We had big plans for the day after!

Because on saturday morning we headed to Point Lobos State Reserve!
Jillian had texted me some days prior to tell us about what they had planned for our visit. "I think you will really like it. There is some easy hiking and beautiful rocky beaches with wild cool trees" She sure knows what makes me happy!
The walk to the beach was so beautiful. All green and fairytale looking!

Tijn carried the picnic basket.

Oh, how I love a good old Rotvälta (uprooted tree in Swedish)!

And this was where we were headed.

The light was absolutely perfect for taking photos so prepare yourself for a lot of them. There are forty photos in this post, I just couldn't slim it down anymore (I had 87 photos after the first sorting out...).

The sky was overcast but the light was still super bright.
Look at that white sand! I love how big the grains of sand were too, easy to swipe off and they looked like crystals. Beautiful!

Jillian was happy!

David was posing for the camera like there was no tomorrow, and Tijn had a bright smile on his face. We were all just a happy bunch at the beach!

The picnic basket was unveiled. David is eyeing the content yearningly.

So many wonderful things!

After we had eaten Tijn went to check out the rocks (It's almost difficult to spot him here).
I was eager to go beach combing, searching for treasures.

The kelp bubbles in America are crazy large! This one was the size of a tennis ball.

And this one had tiny fingers and arms reaching up my palm.

We were all looking for treasures. Here David had spotted something that he wanted me to see. Haha, look at him pointing!

Jillian found a large piece of some kind of purple kelp that felt like rubber or latex. So weird and wonderful!

And all around us, because in every direction there were beautiful scenery.

After a couple of hours we went up the stairs again to see more of this beautiful place.

So. Incredibly. Beautiful.

Oh, gosh! Nature at its finest!

We started our hike back to the car. Jillian and Tijn are such cuties!

Then we spotted a whole bunch of seals!
Signs said this was their birthing place. It seemed like people were normally allowed down there but it was closed off now to give the seals some privacy. Awesome to have an entire beach for your seal families and friends when giving birth. A birth party!

And into the forest we went again. Love the moss hanging from the trees, it creates such a moody atmosphere!

When we got back to Jillian and Tijn's house we were all very tired, so we slept for a couple of hours.

And then we went to the docks to go eat at a fish restaurant there. I was very fascinted by this twinkly factory thing and forgot to take photos of the pretty boats. Typical me.

It was such a great day with our wonderful friends!
I hope we can go back soon again (but leave way before friday afternoon LA rush hour...).

Hej!

Just a little update of what's been going on lately.
We are settling in to our tiny new home and have decided we'll probably stay here for the duration of our stay in the US. The landlords are great, our next door neighbours too, the neighbourhood is wonderful, the garden is lovely and we don't need more living space than this.

My hair is getting lighter from the sun. It scares me a little, but so far it looks good. I even think it looks redder than normal, but there are some parts of it that are starting to look more strawberry blond than chestnut red. I wonder what it will look like in a few months.
I don't know if I've written this on here before, but I have never dyed my hair. I was bullied for my hair colour when I was a kid and that made me decide to never ever fall for their evil words. I said to myself that I'm going to love my hair colour and make it my statement. So that's what I did.
Now when it's starting to change it scares me. I've gotten some grey hairs and that doesn't bother me too much, but what does make me sad is to see the red go away.
We'll see what happens. Maybe I will need to dye it one day in the future to feel like my true self again.

We went to a fancy Hollywood party last week. It was equal parts exciting, scary, fun and weird.
We looked good though.

I took a selfie in the restroom of the fancy Beverly Hills mansion the party was in. Because who wouldn't, right?

The landlord's dog Pickles is getting used to us being around. Lately she's even come for visits.

It's been very hot here lately. And everybody keeps saying it's going to get a lot warmer soon. I'm scared.
My body just doesn't do heat very well. The shoes I brought with me fits my feet perfectly here, in Sweden they almost fall off my feet with every step I take. It's actually quite crazy how big a difference it is.
But I think I'm getting more and more used to the temperatures here, and it's great that the air is so dry because that makes the heat a lot more bearable.

Friday evening makes a budding Hollywood director very tired.

We go for a lot of evening walks around the neighbourhood here.
The temperature is wonderful when the sun goes down and it's nice to get to know our surroundings by walking.

Our neighbourhood even has a Spooky Tree!

And in other thoughts: I have been thinking a lot about what to do with this blog. I'm definitely not abandoning it, but I feel like I don't know what to post on here, and I feel kind of stressed about that fact.
I update my instagram every day and that has become my favourite place to post pictures and random thoughts right when they happen. So to blog about all those things one more time over here feels like I'm repeating myself, and what I want for this blog anyway is for it to be fun and interesting and sometimes with some clever thoughts.
SO: I'm going to change it up a little.
I will be posting mostly photos from my Nikon D7000 here from now on but I will also write more. I have a couple of posts waiting in my head, and I think you are going to like them a lot.
